One Time Thing by Michael Chapman on Grooveshark

"I had an art college education and on a rainy night in 1966 I went into a pub in Cornwall, but I couldn't afford to pay to go in. So I said, I'll tell you what, I don't want to stay outside in the rain, I'll play guitar for half an hour for you. They offered me a job for the rest of the summer and I've been at it ever since."

The perfect music for a Saturday 'morn. We're -24 C so far today. When layering on more layers just means you can no longer button your coat. Gonna stay in instead and play that One Time Thing song one more time. Or maybe two. Thanks Bob (and Michael Chapman).

Hi Annie,

In my dim dented metal pail of a head and mind, and long ago, when I first heard this song, with its wandering immaculate guitar playing trail, and then the sound of the voice, and finally the meaning of the words, I thought (and still do) it's one of the rare love songs from a man that truly sets a clumsy yet sure tone and meaning. Best left to its own devices, say nothing on my part, but I have.

stay warm, Bob
