Bob,

I'm just under four hours south of Ferguson here in southern Missouri, and I was probably 15 miles away visiting my sister in St. Louis the day Michael Brown was shot. Like most, I was deeply saddened if not surprised by the Grand Jury's decision relayed last night to not even permit a trial. A trial would present the case for and against the officer in the light of day, perhaps exonerating him, perhaps not. Instead we get Missouri Goddam.

stay tuned,
mike

Mike,

It's too easy to blame cops, young cops, frightened cops, but it's easy to see the police state against especially black men in America, and the overall military hardware — it's everywhere. And it's moved into every neighborhood and city and back road of America. You don't shoo it away. You don't pay for it to leave. You don't wish it away, and you can only deny it so long. The worse is ahead. Just listen to the songs — from Leadbelly to The Game.

Give thanks.

all's well, Bob
