Oak Around

sculpture & photo © bob arnold

this is an oak firewood cairn (a cord) I built on Thanksgiving Day and will burn in two years (allowing oak to season). As I hauled the firewood out of the woods and built the sculpture, from afar I saw two passersby over three hours hiking the muddy road, and we waved.

And the island chair is changing - a lovely metamorphosis.

We believe a beaver has been after the island chair. Fording the creek to the chair and inspection is showing large tooth chips. . .
we're keeping a watch. If whatever critter gets through the chair (and why in the world pick the stump-chair of all the debris, driftwood, brush piles, and other wood chunks about?) I've got a backup at-ready.

all's well you two, Bob

How strange about the tooth chips - I thought it odd that you would choose to alter the rustic stump-chair but I enjoyed the attention it was getting.

All's well here too.

I'm waiting and will be working with the critter(s. Depending on how the chair is left, I have another one in the wings to take its place. You remind me to ford the creek today and have a look at things down there.

all's well, B.
