for the dust jacket front cover

when he was, of all sixties icons,

black mountain alumni

the one with the most beatific

and graceful smile;

couldn't the book designers find a photograph

available and affordable

where the beaming one

was beaming?

Otherwise, the letters provide
a whole life to behold
